This update add a new outpost called Embark Beach and offers content both for people who like to play in groups as well as those who like to explore the gaming world on their own. If you like to travel with good company then you can now make parties with 7 heroes (instead of 3). Captain Langmar, previously Lieutenant, is back and has nine dailies for you in store. Daily pre-searing quest?
Argh. Here's to a diluted LDoA title.
I won't whine; the rest looks nice.

Pretty sure the amount of complains will strongly depend on the amount of XP the daily quest gives.
If the LDoA quests give the same amount of experience as say halve a day to a day of deathleveling, there wont be much noise, a bit, sure, but not much.
Now if they give you the title for just a week or two worth of quests (like ZQ with 20-45 min each), a good number of people will feel a bit cheated.

The quests scale their difficulty to player level. Even if the base quest XP is low, you're likely going to get to fight multiple monsters near your level. That alone is going to offer much more XP.
Knowing Stumme the objective is definitely to make the title easier/ "water it down." Where Lindsey was conservative on titles, Stumme has showered us in holiday consumables and in HotN, oppressor weapons. How much is debatable, but we can be certain that some people who ground it out will complain.

Anyway, I'm glad it's finally here. And the pre-searing and vanq dailies will be an amazing addition imo.

I'm kind of concerned with daily pre-searing quests. I consider the LDoA to be the 'elite' if there is considered an elite in GW1. But hey, I got my pre-sear toon all set for for 2 years now (lvl 17 with best gear and good 50k)

Yep, GW2Guru seems more excited *shrug*. It was the same way with WiK. We had 250+ pages, and the GW1Guru equiv at like 15.

yep find it strange that gw1 info is not on the gw1 sites ....and that the info was leaked in german and italian (which means either the english person was able to bite their tongue or .....).
/feeling forgotten on guru1
and guess I can finally level up my pre-searing characters without death leveling....NOT looking forward to drunkard changes (I finished it already )

Personally I see it as him removing the grind instead of watering it down or making it easier. It's always easy to get alcohol - you can get the money for drunkard in pre with enough grind. It's just a huge grind.
I had a look at Lindsey's HoM on two accounts (I think) and she has made massive progress on the grind titles on both accounts when the HoM first launched. I think her personal play style (from reading into something as vague as HoM) heavily favours grind. One of the founders called grind a very subjective thing, personally I think that's completely wrong, repeating the same thing over and over again for small advancements on a linear scale is grind, to call it anything else is denial. Guild Wars is full of it (and has been since the launch of Nightfall).
I personally love Stumme's removal of a lot of the grind in the game. It's still a lot of grind to get things it's just not the monotonous turn you into a serial killer its so boring, time consuming and repetitive any more that we had before he took over.
Count me in on the people who are annoyed GW2Guru is getting comments from Martin on a sub-forum when nothing is being said on the actual forum to the game. The Guild Wars:Beyond forum was supposed to discuss lore and gameplay links from GW:B and GW2; that's why they created it on GW2:Guru, it has a grey area of relating to some extent to GW2. The feature build in no significant way falls into that category (it's mostly UI and non-story related content - it doesn't advance the plot in any way) yet some people over there are using the forum as a surrogate for the already existing GW1 forum. It's stupid imo.

I think what he means is, the title wont be that impressive anymore, which I agree with. When I saw an LDoA i was like...wow that took some time...now its gonna be, ok they did the quests.

Impressission is subjective anyway. LDoA is one of the most skilless and grind intense titles in the game. It's also completely nonsensical. At least now getting the title will involve actually playing the game instead of contributing to global warming by running your computer 24/7.

All of the changes look very promising. Definately looks like Stumme is determined to improve this game.
Also, I can completely understand why Martin would post over on GW2Guru instead of here.

While what you say is true, I still respect LDoA. It does take dedication. Now, with the new quests it will take less dedication. LDoA wasn't even a title Anet intended to have, thus why it has more grind then other titles.
Not saying I don't want these quests, because I do. GW1 should get rid of the grind.

Care to enlighten us? This is an update to GW1, people looking for information on GW1 come here, very few go to GW2Guru for obvious reasons. If you are communicating to the GW1 audience about GW1 my personal belief is it makes more sense to do it on the forum dedicated to GW1 not GW2.
I'm not saying you're wrong and I'm happy he posted something, but I am a little disappointed in the CMs engagement with the GW1 community since Gaile Gray left and it's not helping seeing them post on GW2Guru about GW1. This is my personal view on it, I'm still grateful someone confirmed it.

My honest opinion is because the GW2guru community is a good community. While GW1guru is always bitching at Anet. Respect is a 2-way street. While it is the CMs job to inform the GW1guru community, I can see why they would want to avoid it. The CMs are relished on GW2guru. In real-life would you rather talk to people who think you're the best and respect you, or people who think you're a bore and you ruined their lives (aka, GW1 is 'dead' now. Crappy balancing. No updates ever. Updates take too long, the list goes on and on)?
Oh, and when Gaile was around the community was still in good shape, but I wouldn't point it at her for being in good shape. But mostly because when she left ANets focus quickly shifted to GW2

I don't believe the GW2Guru community is any better than this one. The only part of it that focuses on GW1 is significantly smaller than this guru and many of the posters in it don't care anywhere near as much about the game as the posters who post here. That's the only difference. Most of the people who post there post here as well, just there area lot more people who post here who don't post there.
It's a part of the job for a CM to deal with a community even in the later years of the game and it's a part of the MMO world for people to be unhappy about many aspect of the game they are playing, particularly in it's later years when content slows down or stops completely. The real important thing to note is that most of the people complaining care a great deal about the game, that makes them a good community. If everyone was half interested in upcoming updates but never really caring because they don't play the game any more, I'd call that a bad community.
